The Radford Clothing Bank is once again gearing up for its annual August Kids Program.
The program provides a $75 voucher for each income qualifying student in grades K – 12 attending Radford City Schools. The vouchers can only be redeemed at the local Fairlawn Walmart to purchase new school clothing and tennis shoes for each school aged child in a family. In 2023, 296 students received vouchers. This year’s screening for eligibility will be August 5, 10 a.m.- noon and 4- 6 p.m. at Central Church, 803 Wadsworth St., Radford.
The Radford community and the 14 churches that sponsor the Radford Clothing Bank provide funding and volunteers. Anyone wanting more information can call the Radford Clothing Bank at 540-633-5050. Donations to this project can be mailed to RCB, P O Box 994, Radford, VA 24143.
You MUST provide all of the following verifications:
Photo ID of applicant
Proof of address (June or July bill)
Social security card or birth certificate for each child in the home.
*SNAP, Medicaid, TANF or four weeks of current pay stub for each employed family member
