Anthony Ray Atkins, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., went to be with the Lord Aug. 5, 2024, at the young age of 50. He was born Dec. 6, 1973, in Blacksburg, graduating in 1991 from Christiansburg High School.
Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Olive Kelly and paternal grandmother, Russelle Atkins; mother Katheryn Hope Kelly; and sister Jennifer Grace Atkins.
He is survived by his father, Allen Ray Atkins (Deborah) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother, Robert Allen Atkins (Rachel); nephew Sam and niece Isabelle Atkins, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and stepbrothers Jason Kirkner (Stephanie),of Riner, and Paul Kirkner (Kristi), of Aynor, S.C. He was also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins. Anthony had a very special friend Matt Adkins whom he considered as a brother.
The viewing will be held at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, today Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, 2 – 4 p.m. A private burial will be held on Sunday for family only.
