The Blacksburg location of the Montgomery County VA Regional Tourism office has relocated from the Community Arts Information office beside the Lyric on College Ave to the handsome yellow house with its deep porches at The Artful Lawyer on 318 N Main St. in Blacksburg.

New Offices for Downtown Blacksburg Inc. and Montgomery County VA Regional Tourism

The main tourism office is still housed in the Montgomery County Government building in Christiansburg.

The relocation of the Blacksburg offices will be commemorated during a Montgomery County Chamber Ribbon Cutting on April 25, 2019. The ribbon will be cut shortly after the event commences at 8:30am.

Irene Kilmer, visitor relations manager for the Montgomery County VA Regional Tourism office said that leaving the space on College Avenue when the rent was raised was bittersweet.

“It was such a collaborative space. We were in close contact with the Lyric next door and we will miss that. We’re all so appreciative of the space we did have. But it was so very generous of The Artful Lawyer to open up a space when we didn’t know where to go.”

Downtown Blacksburg Inc., Blacksburg Regional Art Association and the tourism office will remain together n the Blacksburg art venue.

Tourism will continue to provide visitor assistance and tourism information alongside exhibits of local artists.

Kilmer says the transition was easy and the house provides ample space for art and tourism.

Entering the sunny 19th-century American four-square, The Artful Lawyer gallery space is to the right, Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. offices and the Tourism offices are to the left.  BRAA has room for classes and art adorns the halls. The Artful Lawyers hosts paint parties.

The office is open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.

For more information, please contact Irene Kilmer with the Montgomery County VA Regional Tourism Office at (540) 577-6054.
