Radford’s Harvey-Howe-Carper American Legion Post 30 honors Radford High School’s Boys State and Girls State participants recently at the school. Pictured (left to right) American Legion member Max Mottesheard, Jack Woodard, Mason Murphy, Legion member Richard Lyckman, Collin Barron, Reagan Bryant, American Legion Commander Dana Jackson, James Riffe and Radford High School Principal Adam Simpkins. Jackson congratulated the students for their participation in the program, which he said, “carries a great deal of weight.” The American Legion Boys and Girls State programs are five-day programs, held at Radford University and Longwood College respectively, that teach students about the workings of government and civics.
