William D. (Billy) Aldridge, of Childress, VA, by the grace of God, and with a strong belief in eternal life, passed away at home on August 16.

He is survived by his children, Kelly Noto and husband, Steve, of Granger, IN, and son Brannon Aldridge and his girlfriend Kady Lafferty of Christiansburg, VA; brothers, Lee Aldridge of Silver Springs, MD, Sam Aldridge and wife, Kathy, of Gilford, NH, and sister Elizabeth (Beth) Aldridge of Marshfield, MA; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Noto and Emily Grace Noto; nephews Andrew Aldridge, Forest Aldridge, and Eamon Aldridge, and niece Libby Aldridge; and many, many special friends.

He was a 1976 graduate of Auburn High School. He was a strong advocate for his community which many remember from the last 11 years with the Town of Christiansburg, the prior 12 years as the proprietor of Little River Contracting and his previous partnership with this father, Bill Sr., at The Furniture Market.

The family received friends on Saturday at Billy’s home court at Auburn High School gymnasium. A funeral service was held on Sunday, at the Snowville Christian Church with Rev. Jonathan Webster officiating. A private burial took place at the Lucas Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Riner Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1610 Auburn School Drive, Riner, VA 24149 or the Riner Volunteer Fire Department, 4171 Riner Road, Riner, VA 24149. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hornefuneralservice.com.
