Kelly Wade Akers departed his earthly home on March 6, 2021.
Wade was born March 31, 1970, in Christiansburg. He was 50.
He grew up in Christiansburg, attended Christiansburg schools and later moved to Raleigh, N.C. While he was in North Carolina, Wade lived in several other towns.
He is survived by his mother, Susan F. Hinnant, and his stepfather, Mallie Hinnant; his father, Larry I. Akers and his stepmother, Sharon Akers. He also leaves behind stepsisters from his integrated family and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Wade was predeceased by his grandmothers, whom he dearly loved: Aletha Duncan Akers and Amy Ferguson.
