Brenda Joyce Ackelson, 69, of Blacksburg, formerly of Lindside and Ballard West Virginia, went home to our Father in heaven on Sat., May 24, 2025.

Brenda was born May 15,1956 in Norfolk, Va. to Dean and Joyce Christensen. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Dale Ackelson (2005), their son Jeremiah (2021) and her sister, Mary Anne Christensen.

She is survived by two brothers, Larry Christensen (Rosie) and Jimmy Christensen (Nenna), four children and two bonus children: Jennifer Puckett (Jody), Carrie Christian, Joshua Ackelson (Jessica), Sarah West (Joe); Ginger Hansen, and Derick Ackelson. Also, by 12 grandchildren: Joseph Puckett, Jr. (Brianna Powers), Dawson Ackelson (Hayley Thompson), Kane Christian (Alyssa), Olivia Christian (Gregory Huffman), Avery Christian, Elizabeth Elliot (Bryce), Josiah Ackelson, Josephine Ackelson, Alexander Ackelson, Ronnie Hoke, Leia Mann, and Aaron Mills. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Brenda found happiness in life through fellowshipping with those who shared her love of the Lord, helping those less fortunate than her, and spending time with her loved ones. Brenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her memorial service was held Saturday, May 31 in the pavilion behind the Church building at 510 Porter Street in Blacksburg.
