RADFORD – Isaac “Trindon” Morton-Robertson, a Belle Heth Elementary School student, is the first place winner in the VSBA’s Blue Ridge Region Art Contest in the elementary division.
Another Radford student, Summer Tapp of Radford High School, is the second place winner at the high school level.
According to the VSBA,the winners were chosen from “an impressive selection of art from around the region.”
Other local winners include: Second Place Middle School Winner Andrea Marie Stowers from Giles County Public Schools, Third Place Middle School Winner Kaylee Cox of Dublin Middle School, and First Place High School Winner Dee Dee Triplett of Pulaski County High School.
The VSBA Regional Art Contest started in 1989 “to promote the artistic talents of Virginia’s public-school students.” For each of the nine VSBA regions, a winner is chosen for the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The winning art will be displayed on the VSBA website and at the 2020 VSBA Annual Convention.
The Virginia School Boards Association is a voluntary, nonpartisan organization of Virginia school boards designed to promote excellence in public education through advocacy, training and services. The Association offers conferences, information, training, and counseling for Virginia’s educational leaders.
