The Radford Education Association Political Action Committee (REA-PAC) has voted to endorse candidates running in the May 1 election for Radford City School Board and Radford City Council.
REA-PAC chose to not endorse mayoral candidates because of the limited number of candidates.
For the seats up for election on the Radford City School Board REA-PAC recommends: Liz Altieri, Lynn Burris and Lee Slusher.
For the seats up for election on the Radford City Council REA-PAC recommends: T.W. Bess and Jessie Critterton.
In order to be considered for recommendation by REA-PAC, candidates must complete a questionnaire and participate in a personal interview.
“Every candidate we interviewed supported goals fundamental to Radford City Schools’ continued excellence,” said Georgeanne Lavery, chair of the education association’s PAC. “Nevertheless,” Lavery continued, “we believe that our recommended candidates will be the most effective advocates for students and educational professionals.”
