The animals of the week are from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center. Each Saturday the News Journal will feature a dog and cat from the facility available for adoption. Nizmo, 4-year-old male: Initially a little unsure of strangers, this Beagle/Australian shepherd mix has come out of his shell working with volunteers! Once out of his kennel, Nizmo is outgoing and friendly. He does well with younger children and doesn’t have any problems being around the bigger dogs at the Animal Care and Adoption Center.
