The Big South Conference has announced the upcoming 2026-27 conference schedule, outlining the nine-member league’s 16-game schedule. After an eight-day layoff over the holiday season, Radford University begins Big South play on Wednesday, Dec. 30, playing host to Gardner-Webb at the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders ring in 2027 with a trip to Presbyterian, taking on the Blue Hose on Saturday, Jan. 2. The Highlanders return home to welcome Winthrop on Jan. 6 before playing at High Point on Jan. 9 in the rematch of last season’s Big South Championship Game.
Following the much-anticipated contest, Longwood hosts the Highlanders on Jan. 13. The Dedmon Center will be busy with women’s basketball action on back-to-back Saturdays in mid-January, as Charleston Southern and USC Upstate come to the New River Valley on Jan. 16 and 23, respectively. Radford then hits the road for a week, playing at Gardner-Webb on Jan. 30 and Winthrop on Feb. 3. Four of Radford’s final six regular season contests are at the Dedmon Center. Presbyterian comes to town on Feb. 6, and then High Point returns on Wednesday, Feb. 10. After two road games in South Carolina at USC Upstate and Charleston Southern, the final week of the regular season sees Longwood (Feb. 24) and UNC Asheville (Feb. 27) make the trip to Radford. After the regular season, the conference heads to the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn., for the Big South Tournament from March 3-7. It’s the third-straight season Johnson City has played host to the five-day tournament, which sees the winner receive an automatic bid to the 2027 NCAA Tournament.
