In honor of all those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 and to recognize the dedicated efforts of all the first responders who work so tirelessly for their communities, the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets will hold a silent formation on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The event will begin at 7:10 a.m. at the flagpole on Upper Quad, off Alumni Mall between Pearson and New Cadet halls.

The Color Guard will raise the flag and two buglers from the Highty-Tighties, the regimental band, will play Echo Taps. The Gregory Guard, the corps’ precision drill team, will perform a 21-gun salute.

Local first-responders will be in attendance. All are welcome to join the Corps of Cadets for this event, which will last no more than 20 minutes.
