Thanks to a donation of tickets from ESPN Blacksburg, the YMCA at Virginia Tech will raffle off four tickets to Virginia Tech’s Oct. 9 game against Notre Dame at Lane Stadium.
The drawing will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. at the YMCA’s Y Center, 1000 N. Main St. in Blacksburg. The raffle tickets are $15 each with no limit on the number of raffle tickets that may be purchased. To purchase raffle tickets, visit the Y’s website (https://vtymca.org/football-raffle-2021) and click on “Purchase your raffle tickets here.”
The seats are in the stadium’s East Stands in Section 19R with a total value of approximately. $800.
All proceeds for the football raffle benefit the YMCA at Virginia Tech and its community outreach initiatives that include education programs, anti-hunger initiatives, after-school children’s programs, tutoring, and international services.
One winning raffle ticket will be drawn, and the individual whose name is drawn will win all four tickets. A total of 2,000 raffle tickets will be printed and be available for sale.
The tickets are on sale now and will be sold until Friday, Oct. 1. Persons must be at least 18 years old to purchase a raffle ticket.
The winner does not need to be present to win and will be notified via email, telephone call, and/or mail.
Members of the YMCA at Virginia Tech’s Board of Directors, and the senior leadership staff, and their spouses are not eligible to purchase raffle tickets.
By purchasing a raffle ticket, each individual agrees to have his or her contact information added to the Y at VT’s database for future communication purposes. The winner agrees to allow the Y at VT to utilize his or her name and likeness in marketing and communication projects. The prize may be subject to taxes. Payment of that tax is the responsibility of the winner. As such, the winner must complete an IRS Form 1099.
