Joseph Alfred Wall, born Sept.1, 1928, known as Joe and beloved PaPa, left his earthly home on Sept. 24, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family in the warmth of the home he helped physically build and make into a loving home for his family.
He was born in Blacksburg, VA where he lived his entire life. He retired from the Electrical Services Department of Virginia Tech with over 40 years of service. Joe graduated from Blacksburg High School on June 8, 1945. Joe loved flowers and gardening, and enjoyed them while here on Earth.
He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, wife, and mother of his children, Dauphine G. Wall; his parents James Lee and Dora Wall; sisters Hattie, Lillian (Aunt Sis-C), Helen, Robin, and Janie Lee; and his brothers, James and Vance (Uncle Jick) Wall.
He is survived by his adored wife, Mildred (MilMil, Nana) who provided much love and caring support, right to the end; his daughter and son-in-law Mary Lynn and Andy Hall; his son and daughter-in-law Joseph Lee and Cathy Wall; grandchildren Ashley and Travis Barber, Andrew Hall, Timothy and Amanda Wall, Adam and Erin Wall, and Katie and Preston Wall; great-grandchildren Owen and Emerson Barber, Lilly and Joseph Wall, Katie, Sara, and Mitchell Meredith, and soon to arrive Ruby Mae Wall. Joe is also survived by sister-in-law Nancy (Claude) Hylton, special niece, Allie Riffe, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins, including special friends, Renie Price and Eddy and Jeanette Stephens.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice who provided care and support over the past four months to Joe and his family – Sabrina and Aislyn were his angels here on Earth as they provided such loving care for him. Many thanks also go to Amanda Wall for the love and care she gave to Joe and the smiles she brought to his face each morning for the past few months.=
Funeral Services will be conducted today, Sept. 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW Blackburg,Va.
