W. Richard Shelton, long-time retired on Jan. 31 introducing Helen V. St. Clair as interim Treasurer in a letter from the county treasurer’s desk, to the Citizens of Montgomery County. That letter is reproduced here:
To the Citizens of Montgomery County:
“Upon my retirement on Jan. 31, 2019, after 15 years and 1 month of service to Montgomery County, Helen V. St. Clair, my Master Government Chief Deputy Treasurer, has accepted the position of Interim Treasure through Dec. 2019.
With Helen’s 35 years of experience and knowledge of the Treasurer’s office, which includes 15 years as my Chief Deputy Treasurer, it gives me great pleasure to endorse Helen for the office of Treasurer of Montgomery County. She will be running for Treasurer in the General Election in November.
Over the past 15 years Helen and I have worked closely together for the betterment of this office and our county. Many changes have taken place over these years, all for the good of the citizens and voters that we have served together. My motto has always been “Together We Can, Together We Have and Together We Will Continue.”
With Helen’s leadership these three goals that we have established will continue.
No one is better suited or qualified to continue the effective, efficient and timely operations of the Treasurer’s office than Helen St. Clair.
Respectfully,
W. Richard Shelton, Treasurer
