Pauline Proco Vanhoozier of Christiansburg, Va. entered into life on Jan. 14, 1936. Entered into rest on June 18, 2018. When Jesus called, Pauline answered and it was time to come home. She went home to meet her precious husband, Ralph Vanhoozier and her parents Steve and Loveda Linkous Proco and her only brother Steve whom she loved more than words could tell who preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her sister-in-law, Pat Proco, from Colfax, N.C., two precious nephews, Chris Proco and wife Melissa from High Point, N.C., Jay Proco and Tina of Colfax, N.C., special great niece Chloe Proco and great nephew Eli Proco from High Point, N.C., and special great niece Gracie Proco from Colfax, N.C., aunts and uncles, Robertine and Bobby Gravely of Christiansburg, Va., Edgar (June) Linkous Jr. and Lucille of Riner, Va., her God Sons, Ronnie Linkous Jr. of Radford, Va., and Jeffery Linkous of Pulaski, Va., special cousins, Dean Gravely, Lorene Dixon and Patty Hill, special friends, Steve and Sharon Spradlin, Tuck and Betty Barlow, Diane King, Dawn Wimmer, Ron Linkous who was like a son and who helped with all of the maintenance at the house.
Pauline wishes to offer special thanks and appreciation to James Richardson, Diane Simpson, and Leon and Janet Alley for all their support and help, her many friends she worked with at Poly-Scientific where she worked for thirty years and the Virginia Tech Cheerleaders class of 2000 who were part of Pauline’s life, she looked forward to seeing them at the football games where she tailgated and supported the Hokies from the year 1953.
She was a member of the Merrimac PH Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Pauline was President of the Women’s Ministry for several years and served as President for the Girl’s Ministry, which she started at the church. She loved all of these girls and later became the first Conference Director for the Girl’s Ministry in Dublin, Va. where she served for ten years.
We would like to thank Dr. M. Conaster, and Dr. March , his staff and two special nurses in his office Tina and Vicky. Funeral services will be conducted at noon today, Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glennard Quesenberry, Rev. Eddie Wood and Rev. Leon Alley officiating.
Burial will be in private estate in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. We would like to thank the McCoy Funeral Home for all the kindness and special things they did for us during the time of our loss.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
