Death Cafe with Good Samaritan Hospice
At the Radford Public Library, 6 – 7 p.m. Talking about death won’t kill you. But it can help your ease your fears, address your concerns, and make you better informed about your options regarding end-of-life arrangements. Join us at the library to discuss hospice and palliative care. Representatives from Good Samaritan Hospice will be present to offer free information and answer questions about hospice care in general and in our area specifically. Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided.
Christiansburg Farmers Market
The Christiansburg Farmers Market is located at Christiansburg Huckleberry Park. The market features local farmers and vendors each Thursday. Seasonal produce, plants, fresh baked goods, crafts, fresh flowers, and handmade jewelry are some of the items available for purchase. Items for purchase vary week-to-week. Getting Scary on the Huckleberry
Join the Town of Christiansburg at the Christiansburg Rec. Center for a fun-filled morning of running, costumes, candy, and pancakes at the annual Getting Scary on the Huckleberry event. Schedule: Kid’s Fun Run (ages 10 and under): starts at 8:45 a.m. Free- pre-registration required. 5K Run/Walk (ages nine and up): immediately following Fun Run. $30 registration fee. Race-day registration is available. Truck-or-Treat: 9 – 11:30 a.m. Free. Kids can check out a variety of trucks while collecting candy from local organizations. No animals permitted. Montgomery County Board of Supervisors meeting
Public meetings are normally held the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Montgomery County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St. in Christiansburg. Closed sessions begin at 6 p.m. if needed. Open sessions begin at 7:15 p.m. Citizens are invited to attend and allowed to speak at each meeting. All regular meetings of the Board of Supervisors are rebroadcast on Montgomery County Comcast and Shentel Channels 190 daily.

Christiansburg Town Council meeting
Regular town council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Town Hall (100 E. Main St.). The public is welcome and encouraged to attend, with a citizen hearing time reserved at each meeting for residents to bring any matter they desire before the entire council. The Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste event at their facility, 555 Authority Dr., Christiansburg, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment only. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is any unwanted household product labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or reactive- aerosols, anti-freeze, fertilizers, motor oil, paint supplies, photo chemicals, poisons, solvents, etc. No electronics, batteries or paper shredding. Radford Fiddle and Banjo Jam at Bee & Butter
Bee & Butter restaurant, in the Highlander Hotel on Tyler Ave., is now open on Monday nights during the Radford Fiddle and Banjo Jam. The jam is held at the restaurant 6- 9 p.m. each Monday evening.
