Mary Jane graduated from Radford University in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught elementary school in Fairfax County with love for her students and an emphasis on VA history, retiring in 1988. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Hokie fan, who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Trope and wife Susan of Berwyn, PA, Jim Trope and wife Laura of Springfield, VA, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Rowley officiating Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg followed by a reception at the Blacksburg Methodist Church. The family received friends prior to the service.
