RADFORD – This Tuesday, Nov. 4, voters will be heading to the polls to choose state and local officials, from the governor’s office to the Attorney General’s office, Virginia House of Delegates and local constitutional officers.
At the top of the ticket is the race for governor, with Abagail D. Spanberger (D) facing Winsome Earles-Sears (R). For lieutenant governor, Ghazala F. Hashmi (D) is running against John J. Reid, II (R). The attorney general’s election has Jay C. Jones (D) facing incumbent Attorney General Jason S. Miyares (R). The House of Delegates District 42 race has Biko Agozino (D) facing incumbent Del. Jason S. Ballard (R).
For the constitutional officers elections, incumbent Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris E. Rehak and incumbent Sheriff Mark Armentrout are each running unopposed for their respective elections. In the city Commissioner of the Revenue election, two newcomers are facing off: Kelsey Renee Marletta and Angel H. Turpin. Current Commissioner of the Revenue Cathy Flinchum is not seeking reelection. Likewise, current City Treasurer Janet Jones is not seeking reelection, and Joy M. Morrison and Tracy A. Trump are vying for the office.
Polls are open 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Election Day. Early voting is available today through Friday, Oct. 31, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Radford City Office of Election, 619 Second St., Radford, Room 143.
