The Rev. James E. Walker, 94, of Radford, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.
He went to meet his beloved Gaylord, who passed away in April 2018 and his daughter, Gloria Moore, who passed in Dec. 2018.
Jim was a member of the West Radford Church of God and served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He touched many lives with his ministry of more than 60 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Smith; grandchildren Chris and Stephanie Smith, Shelia Floyd, Randy and Matt Moore; seven great-grandchildren, two of which are Caelan Smith and Bailey Smith-Gardner; five great-great-grandchildren; special friends Denver Gardner, Gary Shepheard, and Frankie Graham; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at the VA Hospital Hospice Unit in Salem for the loving care given to Jim during his stay.
Graveside services with full military honors were held on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, with Pastor Danny Newman and the Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating.
