Virginia Tech Athletics will hold a Virtual Fan Day on August 9 that will include the Hokie Club Virtual 5K.
Fans will have the opportunity to participate in parts of the day while seeing the team in a unique off-the-field setting. They will be able to hear from select coaches and football student-athletes. The day will feature raffles to win season tickets, parking passes, footballs signed by head coach Justin Fuente and more.
Local members of the Hokie Kids’ Club can swing by Cassell Coliseum, stay in their cars for curbside pickup and pick up their 2020-21 Kids’ Club packet. They will have a chance to meet the HokieBird while maintaining social distancing.
The athletic department will release more details in the coming weeks.
In conjunction with Virtual Fan Day, the Hokie Club is hosting a Virtual 5k. The event can be completed at everyone’s convenience while they support Virginia Tech student-athletes. Registration for the event is $45 with $25 of each registration fee supporting the Hokie Scholarship Fund.
Each registration will include an official race packet, mailed to the address provided at checkout. Fans should register by 5 p.m. on July 23 to receive their packs in time for race day. Packets will include an official Virtual 5k T-shirt, a race bib, temporary tattoos and a Hokie Club decal. Any registrations placed after the July 23 deadline will still receive a packet although it may arrive after August 9.
