It is with great sadness that the family of Archie H. Sumner, Jr., 56, of Dublin, announces his passing on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.
Born in Radford on Jan. 26, 1970, to the late Archie and Phyllis Sumner, Archie was a lifelong resident of the New River Valley. He was a graduate of Christiansburg High School and furthered his education at New River Community College, where he earned several business certificates. He dedicated many years to his work at the Volvo Trucks Valley plant in Dublin before his retirement and was a faithful member of Fairlawn Church of God.
Archie is now reunited with his beloved wife, the late Debra Ann Sumner. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his sister, Lisa S. Jarrett, and his nephew, Tyler Jarrett, both of Falls Church, Va.
Family and friends were invited to a graveside funeral on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. Family in care of McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
