Registration is open for Radford University’s Student Recreation and Wellness Multi-Sport Summer Camp.
The camp is designed to expose children ages 8-13 to a wide array of different activities as well as the university’s premier recreational facilities.
Campers will learn and compete in team sports, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, pickleball, dodgeball and a variety of traditional children’s games.
“Our focus will be team-building, self-awareness and relationship skills,” said Foster Ridpath, assistant director of program and sports clubs. “We will stress the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and giving one’s best effort each day of camp. As a result, we will work on skills such as speed and quickness, footwork, hand-eye coordination, conditioning, and helping each other improve as athletes and as citizens of the community.”
The camp is scheduled for June 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The total cost is $125.
