BLACKSBURG – Mark your calendars for April 15-16 and join fellow Tech fans in Blacksburg for Hokie Hi Weekend.
There will be several events across those three days, including Virginia Tech football’s spring game and the 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance.
Tech football’s spring game, presented by PMSI, will kick off at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 15. Admission to the Hokies’ spring game will be complimentary. In lieu of charging for tickets, the athletics department is encouraging fans to support Virginia Tech’s efforts in Name, Image & Likeness.
The official NIL hub of Virginia Tech, HokieSports.com/JumpStart showcases how you can get involved through charitable contributions, monthly subscriptions or connecting directly with student-athletes. Name, Image & Likeness opportunities are a major component in retaining current Hokies and recruiting the next generation of Virginia Tech student-athletes.
The first day of Hokie Hi Weekend sees men’s tennis take on Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center before baseball opens a three-game series at English Field against the Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stick around for a postgame fireworks display.
On Saturday, lacrosse will get things started at noon against Clemson at Thompson Field. The football team will arrive for Hokie Walk on Beamer Way at approximately 12:30 p.m. while Lane Stadium gates will open at 1 p.m. in advance of the spring game. Pregame activities for all ages in Hokie Village will start at 11:30 a.m. featuring live music from the Jared Stout Band along with inflatables, tailgate games and food trucks.
Fans interested in upgrading their experience at the spring game can download the HokieSports mobile app to access the Maroon & Orange Memories platform. There, you can choose from exclusive opportunities like a videoboard message, sideline access and more.
On campus, the 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance will begin with a moment of silence at 9 a.m. Saturday morning to honor and remember the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us in 2007. The event’s 3.2-mile loop around the Blacksburg campus begins on Alumni Mall near Torgersen Bridge, passes by landmarks such the Grove, Lane Stadium, and the Virginia Tech Pylons, and ends at the April 16 Memorial.
Saturday night concludes with Hokie baseball’s second game against Georgia Tech at 7 p.m.
