Virginia Tech has announced the ticket and parking details for this year’s football Spring Game, presented by PMSI, which will take place on Saturday, April 12, at 3 p.m.

The game will provide fans an early opportunity to see the Hokies in action as they prepare for the upcoming season. Ticket and parking sales began Tuesday, Mar. 11.

Proceeds from all revenue will help fund scholarships for all Virginia Tech athletic programs and assist in covering operational costs for the football program.

General Admission: All seating in the stands of Lane Stadium will be general admission, with tickets available for $10 each. Tickets are complimentary to Virginia Tech students and will be able to be claimed at noon on April 12.

Club Seating: Premium seating in Lane Stadium’s Maroon Club (North Indoor Club) will be available for $25 per ticket. Food and beverage will be available for purchase in this area.

Suite Holders: Suite holders will be contacted directly with information on how to access their suites for the Spring Game.

Paid Parking: Parking in the lots surrounding the stadium (Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) will be available for $25 per pass. These lots will be general admission with lots opening and monitored beginning at 8 a.m. Passes will be delivered digitally.

Former Bruin honored

After three stellar performances featuring two complete games, freshman softball pitcher Lorelei Spradlin from Blacksburg has been named South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Pitcher of the Week for the first time.

Spradlin’s first pitcher of the week honor for Carson-Newman College comes after a week in which she threw no less than six innings in each of her three appearances, tossing two complete games and striking out 18 batters, including a season and career-high nine against Davis & Elkins. Spradlin’s 40 strikeouts are tied for third in the SAC despite appearing in two fewer games than the top arms, LMU’s Halle Grace Patton and Emory & Henry’s Malorie Reeves.

Sox coaching staff

The Salem Red Sox, in conjunction with the Boston Red Sox, have announced their coaching staff for the 2025 Carolina League season, including four returning staff members.

Ozzie Chavez has been promoted to Manager after spending the last two seasons as bench coach. He previously managed the Red Sox’ Dominican Republic Academy from 2019-22 and has been with the Boston Red Sox since 2015.

Nelson “Pepe” Paulino returns for his 28th season with the Red Sox organization as the hitting coach. Paulino brings extensive experience spending seven seasons in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Additional Red Sox MiLB stints include the Greenville Drive and Lowell Spinners.

Kyle Schmidt returns to the Red Sox organization as the Defensive Coach after serving as the Seasonal Affiliate Coach in 2025. Before joining the Red Sox organization, Schmidt had a minor league playing career with the Minnesota Twins organization from 2019-23.
