Equestrian national champs
Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College reclaimed its spot at the top of the collegiate dressage world Sunday, winning its seventh Intercollegiate Dressage Association championship. The victory makes it four national titles in the last five years, three of which have come since the program began competing under the Emory & Henry banner.
The Wasps also picked up an individual championship on Saturday as freshman Delaney Dunne brought home the Mary Beth McLain Memorial Trophy at the Introductory Level.
CHS football golf tournament
The Christiansburg High School football team is holding a golf tournament to raise monies for the upcoming year. The event will be held Friday, May 25 at Auburn Hills Golf Course.
The price is $220 per team with free range balls and $20 for mulligans, red tees and strings. Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 230-8904.
Huckleberry Jam
The Fourth Annual Huckleberry Jam is a 7.4 point-to-point race beginning at RunAbout Sports in Blacksburg, utilizing the entire length of the Huckleberry Trail and finishing at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. Shuttles will be available to transport runners back to RunAbout Sports upon completion.
Late entry is $35 or $40 with return shuttle. On race day, the entry is $40 and $45 for return shuttle.

Ciattei, Pocratsky sweep 1,500-meter races
Distance runners Vincent Ciattei and Rachel Pocratsky rose to the occasion at the inaugural National Relay Championships, as the two earned Virginia Tech track and field two 1,500-meter titles on the campus of Arkansas Friday night.
Pocratsky led a contingent of Hokies who placed in the top 10 in the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish line in 4 minutes, 17.79 seconds. Sarah Edwards finished right behind in second place with a time of 4:22.88, Katie Kennedy went 4:23.18 for fourth, Lauren Berman placed eighth with a time of 4:26.64 and Sara Freix was ninth in 4:28.64.
Edwards, Berman and Freix all registered personal bests. On the men’s side in the same event, Ciattei managed the way with running around the track in 3:42.59.
RU baseball clinic
The Christiansburg Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Radford University baseball, will hold a baseball clinic on Wednesday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harkrader Sports Complex. Please pre-register by May 4 at 382-2349.
The clinic will be teaching the fundamentals of baseball. Participants should bring their own equipment.
VT lacrosse camp
The Virginia Tech club lacrosse team has announced a June 18-20 camp for ages 10-18. This camp will be a complete skills instruction with a daily emphasis on fundamentals, position training, drills and scrimmages.
The price for overnight camp is $375 and day camp from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. is $275. Overnight includes two nights lodging and all meals with also include reversible Nike practice jersey.
