Rev. Robert Lee Smith, Sr., 73, of Christiansburg died, Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on Sept. 28, 1944 to the late Alfred Roosevelt and Mary East Smith.
He was also preceded by a son, Robert Lee Smith, Jr., five brothers, Sam, George, Jim, David and Joe, two sisters, Marie and Lucille. Bob was Pastor at Blacksburg Pentecostal Holiness Church for 28 years. He was also retired as a Foreman from the Town of Christiansburg. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Saul Smith, son and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Amy Smith, daughter-in-law, Starlet Angel Smith, grandchildren, Zachary and Hope Smith, adopted daughter, Donna Christian, and husband, Zane, adopted grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Cox, sisters, Sally Harmon, Louise Long, brothers, Cotton, Charles, John and Roger Smith, numerous nieces, nephews and friends everywhere.
Special thanks to Heritage Home Health, Dr. Harry McCoy and his staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Center. Funeral Services were conducted Dec. 26, 2017 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Interment followed in the Appalachian Conference Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106 A Roanoke, Va. 24018. The family received friends prior to the service at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
