Shirley Anita Lockhart

Shirley Anita Lockhart, 80, of Christiansburg, gained her wings on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at Lewis Gale
Hospital-Montgomery. She was a woman of God. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Shirley
was born in Faraday, W.Va. on July 5, 1941 to the late Samuel and Bessie Mae Berger. She was preceded
in death by 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Dobbins of Christiansburg; her son and daughter-in-law Lt. Col
Darrell and Lt. Col Denise Lockhart of Woodbury Minn.; three grandsons, Christopher Dobbins of
Christiansburg, Cayden and Ian Lockhart of Woodbury, Minn.; sister Janella Coleman of Huntington
W.Va.; one sister-in law, two brother- in- laws, and several nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to Dr. Meredith Spencer, Dr. Fereas Ghosheh, Dr. Kris Ramachandran, the ER
2nd floor and 4th floor staff, and Lewis Gale Hospital- Montgomery for all the loving care that was
shown to our mother.
Family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, on Saturday,
Jan. 15, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Reverend Hiawatha Spraggins
officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family requests
that masks be worn during visitation and service. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
