RADFORD – The 2025-26 school year begins for all four Radford City Public Schools Wednesday, Aug. 13.

RCPS Superintendent Dr. Adam Joyce welcomed everyone back to the new school year in a public statement.

“I’m thrilled to kick off another exciting year with our incredible Radford City Schools family,” he said. “At Radford, excellence in education isn’t just our goal—it’s our passion. Every student. Every day.”

“Being a Radford Bobcat means embracing the joy of learning, the excitement of discovery, the thrill of competition and the belief that education has the power to change lives,” he continued. “We’re here to empower every student with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. We’re proud of our vibrant Bobcat legacy – a tradition of excellence not only in academics, but also in the arts, athletics, and community service. With a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, our students are encouraged to explore their interests, discover new talents, spark and foster camaraderie and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.

“Our commitment to excellence goes hand in hand with our dedication to creating a welcoming and safe learning environment where every student is seen, heard, and supported,” he said. “As we step into this new school year, I’m filled with hope and excitement about what we can achieve together. With the support of our amazing staff, families, and community partners, we’ll continue to make Radford City Schools a place where students shine. Thank you for trusting us with your children’s education and growth. I’m looking forward to a joyful, successful, and inspiring school year ahead when each student and staff member is given the opportunity to engage more and achieve more.”
