The meeting, held with three members present at the school board office and two members at home, also included discussion of a continuity of learning plan since students are out of school for the rest of the school year. Details on those plans will be released by individual teachers at the start of the upcoming week.
The Radford City Public Schools Budget for 2020-2021 includes:
Textbooks – $246,524; Operating Fund – $17,540,748; Cafeteria – $684,960; Grants – $1,452,368; Health Insurance – $2,596,251; Capital Projects – $414,100; McHarg Project – $13,525,197 (Total $36,460,148). The budget includes a four percent raise for all employees. Board member Adam DeVries put forth an amendment to reduce the raise to two percent due to the uncertain current financial climate, but that amendment failed, and the board unanimously passed the budget as presented on a five-to-zero vote.
