Radford University senior softball infielder Hunter Mundy has been honored as a dean’s scholar by the university’s political science department.
Only one senior is chosen per department as an exemplary representative of the student’s accomplishments. The award is given based on several criteria. A faculty voting takes into account overall academic achievements, accomplishments both inside and outside of the classroom and exemplary character.
The Creedmoor, N.C., native has accomplished a lot in her time at Radford. Heavily involved in clubs and various organizations on campus, Mundy has a 3.93 overall GPA.. She has been on the dean’s list every semester at Radford and was named a 2019 Big South All-Academic Team member.
On the field, Mundy was batting .396, before the unexpected end of the season. That average ranked fifth in the Big South. She had eight extra-base hits and ranked third in the league with five home runs. Her 1.245 on-base plus slugging percentage was in the top ten in the Big South Conference.
Mundy was named a Senior CLASS Award candidate in February, one of only 30 in all of NCAA Softball to make the list.
