Clarice Nancy Ribbens, 95, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Kroontje Health Care Center, Warm Hearth Village. Clarice was born in Holland, Mich. on July 16, 1922 to the late John M. and Cornelia (Katie) Bogard Vande Kieft.
She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 60 years, William D. Ribbens, and with her dear sister Ruth Vande Kieft. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Marjorie and Jim Gray, Nancy Jager, Joyce and David Campbell; sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Martha Ribbens, Cal and Kathy Ribbens; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Clarice was a life-long Christian, a student of Scripture, and a devout woman of prayer. Her favorite memories included serving churches alongside her pastor husband, working as an RN during WW II and later as a school nurse, planning and enjoying family celebrations, gardening, singing, and swimming. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2101 Shadow Lake Rd, Blacksburg, with Pastor Christopher Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
