Radford City Schools will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Radford High School Football Stadium Friday.
The event was scheduled for Oct. 27, but RCPS postponed the event out of respect for Food Service Director, Lenora Williams, who passed away that morning.
Highlights will include the accomplishments, history and recognition of those who have made the stadium a special place within the community.
In addition to the celebration, money will be raised for the RHS Students vs. Cancer organization through a Taste of Radford Tailgate that will feature samples from local restaurants.
A meal provided by the RCPS food service department will also be available at a small cost. The Students vs. Cancer organization helps many within the school community who have been or continue to battle with some form of cancer.
Contact the high school (731-3649) or the school board office (731-3647) for questions regarding the celebration.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. on the RHS practice field.
