Raymond Dewey Weeks, 83, of Christiansburg, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at New River Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Russell County, Va. on May 13, 1939, to the late Rev. Dewey and Artie Kegley Weeks. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley F. Weeks; brothers Willie Weeks and Guy Weeks; and sisters Margie Roark, Leona Hughes, and Frances Morrison.
Raymond attended Restoration Faith Tabernacle in Christiansburg. He had a lifelong love of music and was a talented guitarist and singer and was a former member of the Dixie Rangers Country Band.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Delia C. Weeks; sons and daughters-in-law John and Kimberly Weeks and Kevin and Melissa Weeks; grandchildren Chandler Weeks, Branson Weeks, and Rae-Anna (Tweetie Pie) Weeks; a sister, Mary Musick; a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Frances Weeks; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Casto, Pastor Shawn Martin, and Pastor Steve Coffey officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. We would also like to give appreciation to Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital, Radford Health and Rehab, and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center for their support.
