Doris Sutphin Ratcliffe, 90, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025. Doris was born Dec. 9, 1934.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ratcliffe, her parents, Kenneth and Viola Sutphin, sister, Mildred Burk, and two brothers, Jimmy Lee “Mickey” Sutphin and Chester Wayne “Bud” Sutphin.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Gary) Teaster, Becky Ratcliffe and Lisa (Kenny) Farley; grandchildren, Donna (Billy) Andrews, Cindy Teaster, Sarah (Jesse) Smathers and Rachel Farley; great grandchildren, Jacob (Leah) Andrews, Katie (Evan) Collins, Amber (Zach) Smith, Caleb Andrews and Ben Hurst; great great grandchildren, Lydia Andrews, Levi Andrews, Oakley Collins and Nate Smith; sisters, Shirley Westmoreland and Dreama (Randall) Epperly; and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Doris was a lifelong member of Riner Grace Brethren Church where she served alongside her husband Carl, who pastored for many years. She loved her church family so deeply and was a faithful servant.

Doris was a Godly woman of strength, grace and so much love. She enjoyed the simple things in life, being with her children and her grandchildren. Wherever her family was is where she wanted to be. She loved her family and was surrounded by them when she took her final breath.

Heartfelt appreciation to the Good Samaritan Hospice, who were such a blessing to our family in her final days.

The family received friends Thursday Sept. 25, 2025, at Fairlawn Grace Brethren Church, 6893 Mills Avenue, Fairlawn. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 at Fairlawn Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Mike Wingfield officiating. Interment followed in Belmont Cemetery, 2149 Dominion Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15.

The Ratcliffe family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
