Taven Williams recorded his 100th win on the mats this past season as a member of the Radford High School wrestling team.
Last week, he announced plans to continue his career at Roanoke College.
Williams is a two-time district, regional and state champion and now has an overall record of 133 wins and 14 losses with 79 pins.
In 2020, Roanoke College added wrestling as the College’s 22nd NCAA Division III sponsored athletic program.
This past month, Coach Nate Yetzer was named the Region IV Coach of the Year (regular season) for the second-straight year. Roanoke finished 5-2 and 7-0 in the ODAC to win RC’s third-straight league title. The Maroons placed second in the region and were seventh in the nation in the final NWCA dual meet rankings. Yetzer coached five NCAA qualifiers.
