The Radford Public Library will ring in the holiday season this Tuesday, Dec. 3 with a festive event culminating in the lighting of the city Christmas tree from 5 – 7 p.m. Doors open at 5. Radford Transit will run from the high school to the library as the library lot will be closed for the day. Pick up a hot chocolate at Space Rabbit on site. Lamplighters have funded the cost for Space Rabbit cocoa. Come inside the library to see Santa and hear a story read aloud. The Grove United Methodist Church Handbell Choirs will begin playing at 5:45 p.m. and will lead children in playing holiday songs with mini bells at 6 p.m. After the handbell choir plays, the crowd will head out to the parking lot to light the tree. The Wilderness Road Chorus will lead the attendees in songs as Santa lights the tree.
