The Radford Police Department is only the seventh law enforcement agency in Virginia to earn the award
RADFORD – The Radford Police Department has received the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) recently announced.
The award recognizes the department’s successful completion of an advanced leadership training program aimed at enhancing public safety leadership worldwide. The Radford Police Department is the seventh department in Virginia to be honored with the award.
Radford Police Department’s entire command staff completed a vigorous three-part leadership series. The series, consisting of the Supervisor Leadership, Command Leadership and Executive Leadership Institutes, covers topics such as diversity and inclusion, bias, public trust, transformational leadership, social and emotional intelligence and more. The Agency Trilogy Award provides law enforcement agencies with cutting-edge leadership skills to enhance their departments and the communities they serve.
“Our department is committed to excellence and the continuous education of our command staff,” said Radford City Police Department Chief Jerry Holdaway. “FBI-LEEDA’s training has significantly strengthened this commitment, and we look forward to implementing these skills in our daily service to the Radford community.”
Each FBI-LEEDA course is instructed by seasoned law enforcement leaders and public safety professionals from across the country who share their strong expertise. The courses are uniquely designed to enhance public safety professionals of varying levels with leadership competencies to better serve their organizations and communities.
“I am thrilled to honor the Radford Police Department with the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award, a distinguished accomplishment,” said Jacques S. Battiste, Executive Director of FBI-LEEDA. “Through this training, the Radford command staff has mastered skills for successful law enforcement leadership and improved service to the community. Our organization is pleased to present this award to both the department and the residents of Radford.”
Since the inception of the Agency Trilogy Award, 146 law enforcement organizations have been awarded for excellence in leadership and completion of FBI-LEEDA’s flagship courses: the Command Leadership Institute, the Supervisor Leadership Institute and the Executive Leadership Institute.
