RADFORD – Radford City Public Schools has named a Teacher of the Year at each of its four schools and will choose one division-wide top teacher later this month.
The winners are Radford High School Spanish teacher Nicole Scartelli Sykes, John Dalton Intermediate School English teacher Shannon Ferguson, Belle Heth Elementary School sixth grade teacher Madi Shepherd and McHarg Elementary School second grade teacher Ranglette Dobson.
According to RCPS Assistant Superintendent Dr. Melissa McDaniel, the school division will announce the division RCPS Teacher of the Year at the January school board meeting after an interview process of the school winners. Each Teacher of the Year was nominated and chosen by their colleagues and administrators.
The division teacher of the year will be eligible for the Virginia Department of Education Teacher of Year.
