RADFORD – Radford City Council meets this Monday, Aug. 12, and a public hearing on the agenda may pave the way for another cable company to provide service in the city.
Currently, Shentel is the only cable provider in Radford.
A “notice of public hearing on an ordinance proposing to grant a non-exclusive franchise to construct and operate a cable system in the City of Radford” appears on the city’s website (radfordva.gov).
“The Radford City Council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 12, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at 10 Robertson St. to receive public comment on an ordinance proposing to grant a non-exclusive franchise for the construction and operation of a cable system in the City of Radford,” the notice reads.
