Several local teams continued their success this past week on the cross-country course. Radford High School’s girls’ team rolled to the Three River’s title with 35 points over Floyd with 58 and James River with 83.
Radford’s Cora Mosby was the medalist with a 5K time of 20:40.43. Teammate Abigail Castleberry was second.
The Radford boys finished in fifth as Glenvar took the team title with Patrick County second.
In the Mt. Empire competition, the Auburn boys tallied 20 points. George Wythe was second and Galax third.
Auburn’s Blake Brown ran a time of 17:18 to finish in first place. Teammates Jamerson Funk was second and Easton Dobbins fifth.
On the girls’ side of the course, Auburn tallied 22 points with George Wythe second.
Auburn’s Alyson Funk finished in second place with Beverly Warner third and Charlie Songer fifth.
Meanwhile Eastern Montgomery claimed both the boys and girls trophies in Pioneer District competition.
