RADFORD – The City of Radford’s Deputy Police Chief is officially a retiree.
“After 27 years of Law Enforcement service to the citizens of Radford City, Deputy Chief Pete Rutzinski is retiring Nov. 1, 2023,” the police department announced.
“The men and women of the Radford City Police Department would like to commend Deputy Chief Rutzinski for his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to this department and to the citizens of Radford,” the announcement continued. “Deputy Chief Rutzinski will be greatly missed by not only his peers but also members of the community. Congratulations Deputy Chief Rutzinski on your retirement, and may this new journey be as rewarding as the one you’ve just concluded.”
Radford Mayor David Horton thanked Rutzinski for his “service and dedication to Radford” and said he hopes Rutzinski has “a wonderful new journey in your retirement.”
