RADFORD – The Radford City Schools Partners for Excellence Foundation, Inc. recently presented a donation to the school system to help feed children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A $15,028.90 for a Radford City Public Schools Food Hardship Fund was one of two donations the Foundation recently presented to the Radford City School Board and Superintendent Rob Graham at at a school board meeting.
According to the Foundation the objective of the fund was to “financially assist the school division in continuing to provide nutritious foods to all Radford school children when schools are meeting virtually and children are not able to eat meals at their respective school. This year’s donation was in addition to $3,000 given late last year.
Also, the Partners for Excellence Foundation was a Gold Sponsor for the recent ACCE (Access to Community College Education) fundraising effort at the Battle of the Bridge Golf Tournament at the Pete Dye River Course with a donation of $1,000. Since the Partners for Excellence Foundation was the only Gold Sponsor, all of the $1,000 donation will be given directly to Radford City Schools.
The Foundation board members expressed appreciation for support from the community in a statement.
“Both donations were made possible by the many, many generous donors to the Radford City Schools Partners for Excellence Foundation. Without your loyal support, the above would not be possible.”
The RCPS Partners for Excellence Foundation Inc., is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, organization established to promote academics, arts, and athletics in the school division.
