High School football is not predictable, but because of past production and future expectations, three area players are being given all-county/all-city preseason honors.
Pace Prioleau is still developing as a player, but this year could be a breakout one for him especially in returning kicks. The 5-10, 168 Radford sophomore was a monster last season on special teams and is expected to increase his time on the defensive side of the ball. His play on the offensive side could be a key this season for the Bobcats who will regroup after losing 70 percent of its offense from a year ago.
Because of early expectations, Prioleau is the preseason all-county/all-city overall player.
On the defensive side of the ball, Isaiah Cotto will be counted on to play a bigger role for Christiansburg who only returns one starter on the defensive side of the ball. Cotto is the preseason defensive player of year.
Jaxon Keys rushed for over 1,000 yards last season for Blacksburg and should be the workhorse this season. Expect him to rush for another 1,000 yards and help the Bruins to more than five wins. Keys is the preseason offensive player of the year.
