Charlie Daniel Price, Sr., 68, of Radford, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at his home. Born in Montgomery County, VA on Feb. 28, 1949 to the late Henry E. and Evelyn Linkous Price, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Oakley Price, Bernard Price and his wife, Mary Price Epperly; and his father-in-law, Hubert Dalton.
Charlie was one of the last and believed to be the youngest coal miner left in Montgomery County. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pamela Dalton Price; a daughter and son-in-law, Trena and Paul French of Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Daniel, Jr. and Elizabeth Price of Rocky Mount; a grandson, Jacob Price of Rocky Mount; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Shirley Price of Haymarket, Douglas and Penny Price of Dublin, Jimmie Lee and Betty Price of Blacksburg; mother-in-law, Janet P. Dalton of Radford; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Teresa and Tony Wright of Hiwassee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy and Lori Dalton of Dublin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, 2018 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delores Caldwell and Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Private burial followed in the Dalton Family Cemetery, Radford. The family received friends from noon until service time Friday at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
