Preston’s at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center is now offering special takeout menus in response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Select chef-created breakfast, lunch and dinner items can be ordered for pickup seven days a week.
Dining areas at the restaurant and the Continental Divide lounge are closed, following Gov. Ralph Northam’s statement that the Commonwealth of Virginia will follow the CDC recommendation that all businesses in Virginia implement a 10-person limit.
“We are working very diligently to ensure that we’re doing everything possible to keep our guests and our team members safe during this time of uncertainty,” said Tom Cupo, the managing director of the hotel and conference center. “We’ve long had health and safety measures in place for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting, and we have increased that vigilance in the wake of the coronavirus.”
Executive chef Scott Watson designed the takeout menus to include grab-and-go meals that will travel well.
Among the breakfast items available for takeout are plain or chocolate griddle cakes with bacon, sausage and maple syrup. Also available is Preston’s Parfait, made with creamy Greek yogurt, crunchy granola and wild berries.
The lunch and dinner menu features Preston’s famous Drillfield Burger made with Angus beef, bacon-onion jam and brie on a brioche bun. There’s also a vegetarian burger with basil aioli and arugula on a toasted artisan roll.
Another favorite, shrimp and chips, features crispy fried shrimp, Old Bay-tossed fries, kale slaw and herb-scented tartar sauce.
Full menus are available online. Customers can place orders in person at the Preston’s host stand or by calling 540-231-0120.
