The Blacksburg Public Library (200 Miller St.) is holding its semi-annual plant, seed and bulb swap event 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday in the community room.
Attendees participate in the last year’s plant seed, and bulb swap meet at the Blacksburg Public Library. These sort of events help beginning and established gardeners share plant material, knowledge and camaraderie.
Attendees bring garden or houseplants to swap. The event operates under the “bring a plant, take a plant” motto. Packets of seeds and bulbs are also welcome.
Swap begins promptly at 2 p.m., so attendees are encouraged to come early to look around and to put their offerings on the correct table.
The library asks that attendees divide clumps of plants before entering the library to keep the mess to a minimum. The event is free and open to everyone.
Items to swap could include: vegetables, flowers, fruits, shrubs, canes, herbs, ornamentals and other cultivated plants or seeds.
