Pets-of-the-week

Mark Robinson by Mark Robinson

Each Saturday the paper features a dog and a cat from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg).

Check out this handsome fella! This tiger-striped kitty is Fred. He’s loving and lovable, and you might just have a new best friend if you scratch him for a few minutes. He’s good with other cats, but he doesn’t like dogs very much, so he would do best in a home without canines. Come by the shelter and meet this gentle kitty!
Meet Pudge! This gentle girl is as sweet as can be. She’s spent most of her life living outside. Since entering the shelter, she’s adapted really well to indoor life. Now she’s hoping to find her furever home! She can be possessive over food with other dogs, so potential owners should be mindful of this. Stop by the shelter to meet her!

Those interested in adopting a pet can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac.

Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome.
