Each Saturday the paper features a dog and a cat from the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (480 Cinnabar Road, Christiansburg).

Those interested in adopting a pet can call 382-5795 or visit www.montgomerycountyva.gov/acac.

Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome.

Could this handsome boy be your purrfect match? He is affectionate and has a lot of love to give to humans. Dogs? Not so much. Ten-month-old Cheddar would work best in home without canines since he doesn’t tend to play nice with them. He can be a little unsure in situations that are unfamiliar but warms up when he feels comfortable.
“Sit… stay… down.” Zoey, 8, is a smart gal and easily follows a number of commands. This 50-pound pittie mix is sweet and curious—and she enjoys a good treat. She does well with other dogs as well as with children. She is also housetrained. Zoey very well could be the perfect dog!
