Registration is open for two upcoming manufacturing-technician training sessions offered by New River Community College.
The program will introduce prospective employees to the manufacturing environment or help strengthen the skills of those currently in a manufacturing position.
One session will be held on Wednesdays in Christiansburg running from April 4 through May 30 (#9117). The 10-class training will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the college’s NRV Mall site.
Another session will be held on Thursdays in Dublin running from April 5 through May 31 (#9119). This training, also 10 classes, will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 245 Edwards Hall at NRCC.
The Manufacturing Technician program is a technical program that focuses on math, measurement, mechanical, electrical, chemical, quality, sound business practices and manufacturing processes. Students will be awarded the Manufacturing Technician Level 1 (MT1) certification upon successful pass rate on all of the certification modules.
The cost is $1,950.00 if students take all 10 classes in the program, and financial assistance is available.
Participants may also take any of the courses individually for $227 each.
